Diploma in Creative and Media
Whether you are a company, organisation, practitioner or freelancer in the creative industries you can benefit from participating in the delivery of a challenging new qualification for 14 to 19 year olds.
The Diploma in Creative and Media is coming to a school or college near us!
In September 2008 students in Vale Royal will take their first steps in a journey intended to equip them with the knowledge, skills and experience needed by employers in the creative industries and to make the best use of their potential.
Employers need new employees to have more developed functional skills and a better awareness of the world of work. The aim of the Diploma is to provide a fully-rounded education that provides students with vital life skills and develops their readiness for the workplace.
The Diploma in Creative and Media has been designed by industry practitioners from the creative and media industries, working with the education sector.
The involvement of employers in the teaching of the qualification is even more crucial - only with the involvement of employers like you can it now be delivered successfully.
The Diploma combines theoretical study with projects and activities that enable young people to apply their skills and knowledge in realistic situations. Half of the 'Principal Learning' component of the Diploma takes the form of work related learning.
Work related learning is any activity that brings students into contact with the world of work, or work related issues. It can take a range of different forms and covers a whole spectrum of different work related activity. This means that businesses of any size can get involved.
